PREGNANCY SERIES

Welcome to Week Two: Where things are still quiet... but now with a hint of purpose.

If Week One was all about mysterious vibes and poetic naps, Week Two is the slow-motion sequel. Still no ultrasound drama or puppy-shaped silhouettes, but inside Poppet’s elegant frame, tiny zygotes are on the move—like VIPs relocating to the penthouse suite.

She remains the picture of grace and ambiguity. One moment she’s gazing into the distance like she’s solving existential riddles, the next she’s curled into her blanket like a cinnamon scroll. Is she pregnant? Is she just enjoying the perks of being adored? We don’t know. She’s not telling.

What's (possibly) Going on Inside

After fertilization in Week 1, the morulae (clusters of dividing cells) begin traveling toward the uterus. This journey takes several days, and by the end of Week 2, they will begin spacing themselves evenly along the uterine horns in preparation for implantation.

The uterine lining thickens under the influence of progesterone, creating a nourishing environment for the developing embryos. Though implantation won’t occur until next week, the groundwork is being laid — biologically and energetically.

What I’m Noticing

Progesterone is rising behind the scenes, prepping the uterus and smoothing out moods like a backstage crew with fairy dust. Some girls put on a show, others keep it subtle. Mine? She’s somewhere between a nap queen and a mystery novel.

Here’s the scoop from my side of the blanket:

  • Increased sleep or quietness — Absolutely. She’s perfecting the art of luxurious loafing, preferably in sunbeams or on my pillow.

  • Mild digestive sensitivity — Not this one. Her stomach’s still a steel trap... unless she’s feeling theatrical.

  • Clinginess or nesting-like behaviour — Oh yes. She’s staying close and spending far too many hours snoozing on my bed like she owns the place (which, let’s be honest, she does).

  • Heightened awareness of touch or scent — Not that I’ve noticed. She might just be politely ignoring my perfume or saving her opinions for later.

These shifts are soft, like a whispered lullaby. No demands, no drama — just a gentle request for stillness, presence, and maybe a few extra belly rubs (strictly on her terms, of course).

How I Support Her (Without Turning into a Wellness Guru) 🧘‍♀️🍲

Week Two is all about calm vibes and quiet consistency. No need to whip out the kale smoothies or start chanting affirmations — just good food, gentle routines, and a sprinkle of emotional attunement.

Here’s how we’re rolling:

  • Nutrition: No fancy upgrades yet, just high-quality meals served with love and the occasional “you’re glowing” snack.

  • Exercise: Gentle walks only. No zoomies, no mountain hikes. Think: elegant strolls with sniff breaks.

  • Travel: After our grand Tasmanian adventure, Poppet’s fully embraced her homebody era. For now, we’re laying low — no road trips, no surprise detours, just the sweet predictability of blanket nests and lakeside strolls.

  • Bedding: Soft, layered, and possibly arranged by a tiny nesting architect.

  • Routine: Predictable is the new luxurious. Same walk, same cuddle, same nap spot.

This isn’t the time for performance. It’s the time for presence — the kind that says, “I see you, I honour your mystery, and yes, I fluffed your blanket again.”
